OK! I'm in Belgrade. Now what?

OK! I'm in Belgrade. Now what?

I don't like getting up early in the morning. Never. It's just not my cup of tea. Nor coffee. Sorry, can't tell you anything about breathing up the morning breeze and enjoying reading early editions. But as far as I am concerned, this is not what Belgrade is all about. Have you been to Supermarket?

No, it's not a typo. It's with capital S. It's officially defined as a concept store, but it's all in one. And "all" is really cool (cool - is this word still cool?). There's a cafe and restaurant, sushi bar and piles of great things to buy. A Dutchman cooks, but everything looks so French. Taste salmon salad and this cake (forgot its name now) with mint sauce and ... yeah, don't forget to check the books and magazines shelf. You might be surprised.

Another passion of mine is sweets. There's this great place in the middle of forest of old buildings in upper Dorcol. If you are getting out from Atelje 212, its first or second street on the left (Palmoticeva Str.). Patisserie "Mali Princ" (Little Prince) is on the left, with a small terrace along the street and wonderful, from local Serbian to great Italian and French, cakes. But if you find all this too complicated, try Snežana. It's in the Knez Mihailova Street (and it would be wonder to miss this street if stay/live in Belgrade). Remember these words: fruit trifles and banana cake! Trust me.

And if you don't get enough of all these drinks, food and sweets, stop by to club-restaurant "Villa Maska". Last time I was there, I listened to this great band (oboe, bass, accordion, etc.), and ate great Asian food, whilst my friend enjoyed pasta... well, mixtures! It might be something like Belgrade's trademark. Until the City Hall understands this, we are stuck with the sparrow.
