There is no doubt about it, Little Bay offers a dining experience the like of which you’ll be hard pressed to find anywhere else in Belgrade.
The accent is as much on the ‘experience’ as it is on the ‘dining’ because the restaurant mixes aspects of opera and theatre with the much more everyday enterprise of sitting down to dinner. Opened in 2006 as part of the Little Bay chain (with restaurants in London and Brighton) it brought something new and something very different to a city that probably didn’t realise it needed it.
Owner, Dragiša Piter Ilić, tells us that part of the concept is throwing off the restraints of fast food and earning a fast buck and a return to a more gentle pace with more thought put in to combining flavours.
The real treat, however, is the Baroque interior and the accompanying performances of song and piano music, leaving diners with the feeling that they’d stumped up for an evening of high culture rather than a reasonably priced dinner in a restaurant.
