The well-established Belgrade jazz-funk band, Bullet for a Badman (after the 1964 R. G. Springsteen western of the same name), are playing at the Ciglana this weekend.
Here’s a quick taste of their unique sound:
Bullet for a Badman (Metak za zlikovca in Serbian) is, as you just heard if you listened to the track above, an accomplished quintet blending jazz with funk rhythms, intersecting guitar and bass melodies with a strong wind component in the form of baritone sax and trumpet.
After a few twists and turns in the emerging music scene in Belgrade and across the region, Bullet is now an established name on the club circuit, with a strong following primarily in Belgrade but also in Novi Sad, Ljubljana and beyond.
The band members are Ivan Simić (lead guitar and sax), Milan Simić (bass), Petar Milanović (drums), Konstantin Sotirovski (trumpet) and feat. Trendy Effendi on baritone sax.
The band’s Ciglana gig is on Saturday 8 April at 10pm-3am. Entry is free.
