Kat's 9 favorite terraces

I think it's safe to say that summer is well on its way. I didn't mean to rhyme.

We've already had many nice days, and many more will come, perfect for experiencing all the wonderful outdoor terraces that Belgrade has to offer. That has got to be one of my favorite things about this city, that the majority of establishments have outdoor terraces to offer their patrons.
I think we all know about the places at Ada, the splavs on the rivers, and the cafes lining Strahinica Bana, but I will not go into any of them here
So there are certainly plenty to choose from, but I want to share with you 9 of my favorites, in no particular order.

1. Kalemedanska Terasa

A terrific restaurant located right in Kalemegdan with a beautiful outdoor patio. I especially love it on a warm summer night. It's also a little more on the sophisticated and elegant side, perfect for a romantic evening.
Find more at www.kalemegdanskaterasa.com

2. Cinema Nightclub

Cinema is a nightclub located in the center right off the walking street, but it moves to a different location for the summer, as many Belgrade nightclubs do. For Cinema, that means right above Kalemedanska Terasa. What a fantastic place to enjoy drinks and music with friends!! It's a large space with lots of tables and lounge seating, surrounded by trees and beautiful lighting. I adore this place!

From my experience last summer, reservations are required.

(The summer location will open June 2nd)

3. Mydan

Located in Senjak, Mydan boasts a beautiful outdoor patio where you can truly relax but also see and be seen. I'm not crazy about their food, but they do have an extensive menu so maybe I ordered the wrong dishes the couple of times I've eaten there. Either way, I highly recommend it, at least for a drink if nothing else.

Kozjacka 3-5, Senjak

4. Villa Maska

Set off from the street and behind the villa itself, Maska's terrace is another relaxing choice. It's nice both during the day or night and for just drinks or food. I love their decor and it's also available for purchase.

Rankeova 7

5. Comunale / Iguana / Frida

Located along the Sava River, these 3 restaurants are terrific, each with outdoor patios overlooking the river! I just love the vibe along this corridor in the summer. It has a certain buzz about it. And they are each unique with different things to offer, but maybe I'll get into greater detail in another article.
Karadordeva 2-4

6. Vapiano

Located on the 2nd floor (that would be 3rd in America) of Usce Shopping Center, this is a great Italian restaurant. The outdoor patio is simple but I just love sitting out there. Perhaps because it's higher up and I don't think there are any other terraces like that (please correct me if I'm wrong). I really enjoy it more for lunch or coffee.

7. Trpeza / Byblos / Amici

These 3 winners are located right along Karadordev Park (near Hram Sveti Sava). It's wonderful to be able to sit outside, overlooking the park. Both Trpeza and Byblos are more elegant, where Amici is a more casual trattoria/pizzeria. And as far as I know, Byblos is the only Lebanese restaurant in Belgrade. I can get into each of these more specifically in another article.

Nebojsina 6-8 (but the entrance to each of them is from the park)

8. Sheher Park Cafe

Also located in Senjak, this place reminds me of Miami for some reason. It's fantastic! This is one of the first places I went to when I moved to Belgrade that really opened my eyes to the awesome restaurant scene here. Their outdoor patio is beautiful, perfect for chilling or enjoying a delicious meal.

Andre Nikolic 1-3

9. Restoran Djordje

Although I haven't actually been to this restaurant yet, I have heard from a number of friends that the food is delicious. However, since it is in my neighborhood, I have walked by it many times and their outdoor terrace looks divine. It's nestled on a quiet corner, among beautiful residential villas, surrounded by trees. I can't wait to check it out. I'll tell you about it once I do.

Moravska 10

This is certainly not an exhaustive list. As I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of great outdoor places in this city. But I hope this helps you discover some new ones. And if you have others you'd like to share with us, please feel free. Happy terracing ;-)

Yep, these are still accurate. Although, there might be a couple I would add. Maybe I should do an updated version :-)
