Mass Sledding in Belgrade on Sunday

Hey remember when we used to spend whole days outside, playing with our friends, chasing a ball around, tearing our clothes on every snag, jumping into puddles until we were soaked through… And how annoying it was when mum called us back into the house!!! Oh no…

Mass Sledding for Children Aged 7 to 107!

This Sunday (January 15th), a magic event is about to bring our childhoods rushing back to a time when the only thing that matters is having more and more fun with our friends.

The facebook page Gledaj ovo (in English “Watch this”) came up with the idea to organise a mass sledding event on the slopes of Košutnjak.

Just hours after the event was announced the number of people interested in participating passed 1,000 and is currently at nearly 3,000!

The organisors were inspired by the latest generation of kids who are ‘letting the snow go to waste’… probably because they’re too busy playing computer games, hanging out on Snapchat or doing whatever kids do these days that stops them going outside for fun and games. The idea is that we adults can teach them what it means to spend some quality time in the snow and if you’re interested in going, you’re free to bring your kids along for the learning experience.

Sledding equipment? Bring whatever you have. Sleds, snow tubes, toboggans, sacks and (if you’re really old school) cardboard boxes… Be creative and don’t forget to bring a change of clothes.

One of the polls posted along with this event is “How will you stay warm during the sledding?”
a) I will bring a litre of my grandmother’s rakija
b) I will take Nada Macura’s advice
c) I have a natural sweater

So, what will you choose?

The mass sledding event is at 3pm (until late) and starts here:
