Lovers of the modern documentary rejoice! The Magnificent Seven festival of European documentary films, now in its 13th year, begins on Wednesday, 1 February (the festival runs from the 1st to the 7th of February).
The Magnificent Seven festival will be held at the Sava Centre where cinema-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy films by some of the best-known European directors, such as Nikolaus Geyrhalter, Miroslav Janek, Sergei Loznitsa, Jerôme le Maire and, last but not least, Audrius Stonys. Stonys, who will be attending this year’s festival for the third time, originally won the European Film Award in 1992 for his film, Earth of the Blind, and this year he is presenting an understated love story, Woman and the Glacier, at this year’s Magnificent Seven.
The festival opens with the incredible life story of legendary pianist David Helfgott in the movie Hello I am David! A Journey with David Helfgott whose story was also told through the brilliant, Oscar-winning, Shine.
All films are subtitled in both English and Serbian.
Tickets cost 400 dinars per film and are sold at the Sava Center and through EVENTIM
